What is ‘Revolution Counseling’?
The word ‘revolution’ is defined as “a dramatic and wide-reaching change in the way something works or is organized or in people’s ideas about it” (dictionary.com). Indeed, deciding to change your life requires dramatic and wide-reaching change. This is a personal process where you decide, “I want to live a different way. I want to be happier, I want to ________”. The work you will do in counseling is revolutionary.
Can we talk before I set up an appointment?
Yes! All our counselors conduct a complimentary call with everyone who reaches out. This is to make sure that we are the best fit to work together. We want to make sure you will get what you need from counseling. There’s nothing to lose if you call or email!
Will my counseling be confidential?
What you speak about with your counselor is held to be confidential with a few exceptions which you will go over in a first meeting. If you send us an email, know that we do our due diligence to ensure secure communication but the internet is not always secure.
How long does a session last?
Sessions are 50 minutes. The remaining 10 minutes allow for us to make notes and jot down thoughts for our next session together.
How long will I have to meet with a counselor?
This really depends on a number of factors. Some people may meet for a handful of sessions while others choose or need more long-term support.
Is it worth it to come to counseling if my partner won’t come?
Yes! One partner making a change can change the whole system. If you want to include other people, we can brainstorm ways to make that happen.
When will I know I am done with counseling?
At some point in your counseling journey, you’ll start to feel more calm, centered, and strong. You’ll feel ready to go forward on the journey by yourself and we will support you as you make that transition.
Do you take my insurance?
We are currently in-network with:
- Pacific Source
- Aetna
- Moda
We are also able to bill out of network on your behalf or provide you with the documentation you need to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company.
Not every counselor accepts all insurance noted above or bills out of network. Our intake coordinator will guide you through the process and give you the relevant information that you need about this. For more information, visit our Rates and Insurance page.
